Catch Up

I find I have to be in the mood to create ,and I can go for weeks without even looking at inks or paint, and sewing takes over. But then I find I have sudden inspiration and something else takes  a turn. So it was the last couple of weeks I belong to a group of eight, all based in Europe and we swap journal pages. The plan is to send on the 15th of each month to one person, but I have sent to four in two weeks, the reason being I was in the mood ,and who knows when that will happen again.
These pages have gone  to Italy and for some reason they all ended up as collage

I used Kanban stamps and my mystery stamps from QVC which I think may be 7Gypsies,and as you can see London is a little crooked .

I used embossing folders,Sizzix dies ,and also Crafty individuals stamps on this one.

I like to think this one is better in the flesh, I used Artemio stamps.
I also sent tags and ATCs

I was so pleased with this Tag,it is cut with the Tim Holtz Tag die from scrap cardboard, sprayed with Dylusions, and stamped with some of my favourite
http://www.craftyindividuals.co.uk/ stamps, actually I love all their stamps. but the trees lend themselves to tags.

Another tag using Dylusions and http://www.craftyindividuals.co.uk/ stamps.

I love this stamp and yet again it is http://www.craftyindividuals.co.uk/
I kept it simple with archival ink and just clear embossed the wings.
and lastly a simple banner using Dylusions and buttons.

As you can see I am a great fan of Crafty Individuals and at the moment  they have  Mega Blog Candy up for grabs,it would be  amazing to win this stash,

check it out at http://craftyindividualsblog.blogspot.co.uk/
Needless to say I will be entering.
On the subject of Crafty Individuals,  I thought  would be clever today and tried to print the Angel image onto fabric,It was not as successful as i would have liked ,but I will try again.
IMG_8735
My plan was to free motion stitch the wings, but as you can see the image does not give enough definition, so I will try a different technique.
While the machine was out I made a cuff using the wonderful roses and lace that had been sent to me ,by my dear friend ReNae. http://crabtree-creations.blogspot.co.uk/

The button and charm were also from ReNae.
As was this pendant
IMG_8680
It is by  Industrial Chic ,quite large and had layered papers inside,
as I was in the mood for altering ,I removed the papers
and cut coarse calico to replace it.
IMG_8720
I stitched the word Inspiration onto the front piece
and just because it was already printed,I used a photo of myself on the inside.

Out With The Old ,And Kansas Inspiration

Inspired  once again by ReNae  http://crabtree-creations.blogspot.co.uk/  I made a Halloween  banner, Not having the supplies ReNae used I created my own version
IMG_8124
Of course once again it was made using mainly Sizzix dies
The moon was made from acetate so that a light could be put behind.

Last weekend after the recycled jean project I had a sudden urge to clear out and reorganise my craft room. I admit to being a bit of a collector keeping things just in case they may come in useful for some future craft project.
First to go was most of my paper scrap collection, which had grown to fill a large box on wheels.
IMG_8107
I tipped it out onto the floor and picked out the best bits, and then filled a bin bag with the rest. I am not sure why crafters  feel the need to save every scrap  however small.
Then I started on the rest of the room

I find the easiest way is to tip everything onto the desk and then sort through it
one cupboard at a time

And I have to admit it was great to work on a tidy desk.

After the success of the craft room I decided to do the rest of the house, room by room,Once again I found the best way was to empty every cupboard and just put back what was needed.

Just the kitchen left to tackle this week, and then  I will arrange for several sacks to be sent to the charity shop,It feels so good to have done this  and I now even have some empty cupboards.
I have already mentioned ReNae  ,please check out  her blog         http://crabtree-creations.blogspot.co.uk/ as not only is she a very talented artist, she also has a wonderful way with words which makes me smile.
This week she sent me yet another gift, this time it was  butterfly and bird  themed rubber stamps
IMG_8228
Due to my massive clear out I was not able to try them out until today

I also made this tag, after reading ReNae’s Blog
IMG_8219
Although it does  not look like it ,the large accent is gold  coloured  foil.
And this page and tag is going to Sweden as part of a on-going swap.
