February Catch Up

It is hard to believe that another month has passed by ,perhaps it is true that time passes faster the older you get.

I received some wonderful art from my dear friend Tina in Sweden, this was part of a on-going swap,Tina  and I share  a love of the weird  creatures.

And from my wonderful friend Sonja in Serbia, this beautiful  album ,purse ,mini album and bracelet. What makes it even more special it is vintage embroidery stitched by her Grandmother,so I will treasure it.
And off course it was my favourite colour Purple <3

Wilson has had a very bad month, starting with a very unpleasant skin infection which required steroids, followed by him feasting on rat poison .which luckily I witnessed and got him to the vets. He was and still is being treated for the poisoning.
Thank goodness for insurance.

I think this creature reflected how I have felt this last month
IMG_9278
and these  were loosely based on a heart ,trying to be more positive, they were all made in one day ,as they were quick to make.

On a sadder note we have had a very difficult month because my Mother was taken into care, for her safety and that of others,.This has been very difficult especially  for my Father, two brothers and myself, Alzheimer's has to be one of the cruellest diseases,it robs  the sufferer of so much ,and for close family it is devastating. I hope that one day there will be a cure and that the time bomb ,we hear so much about never happens. Mum is a very good artist ,but has not painted for many years
IMG_9227
not a very good photo as i took it at a strange angle, but this is the hamlet she longs to go back too, with her beloved dog,who has long gone
IMG_9230
another painting showing the tiny Baptist Church
She also is  a very accomplished pianist, and it a comfort to know that some days she entertains the ward by playing the piano. But the hardest thing is the fact that some of the time she is quite clear thinking, and in her eyes we have abandoned her, trying to leave her after visiting is very difficult and traumatic, for all concerned as she becomes very distressed
Many of you will know someone with Alzheimer's ,please spare a thought for their families .
