I make no apologies for the amount of photos I am about to post. They were all taken today at Dorothy House Hospice ,Bradford On Avon Nr BATH where my father attends once a week.
They had a day where the patients were allowed to bring a guest and as my Mother is still unwell I was my Fathers +1.
They all speak for themselves and I only wish I had a lens on the camera which could have taken in the BREATHTAKING views.
And we were all treated to a hands on with Birds of Prey.
Dad and Hawk ?
Yes that is a chicken in his mouth
BATH STONE ALTAR

My Lunch vegetable curry.
You often hear the the expression that there is a lot of laughter in a hospice and today I found that to be true. And the kindness of the staff and volunteers was second to none.
Gorgeous pictures Mary! What a spectaclar location too! Seems very peaceful.
ReplyDeleteIt was truly wonderful and so peaceful and they have a wonderful craft room with loads of kit and even a working kiln.
ReplyDeleteMary, I feel as though I spent the day with you as well. You've captured all the sights so perfectly in your photos. It's so lovely to see your Father enjoying himself. He looks to be the same age as my Dad who is 88 years. Life doesn't hold very many new experiences at that age but I think a visit from an assortment of feathered friends fills the bill for your Father!
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing. my best friend is in a hospice at present..they are amazing places. glad to see your dad happy and content lookingxxhope you are coping okxxlynda
ReplyDeleteForgot to say..LOVE the standing stones and all the birds..what bliss!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed these photos so much Mary! Love them all! Especially the look of the owl with the chicken legs coming out of his mouth :))) Scary but, hm, interesting :))
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful day it must have been. Your dad looks like an experienced bird handler;-) I love all your pictures and I have never seen a hospice that looks so nice, almost like a country retreat.Sending you love and lots of strength! xoxo
