This is another selection of photos taken in Brixham, Devon last weekend.

Berry Head Nature reserve  http://www.berryhead.org.uk/  held a   weekend of Battles.

To get to the Fort you walk up a steep path through the wood.

The way up is steep and rugged but you eventually see the light through the trees.

This is the view as you exit the trees

  1. Another beautiful stroll through your area. What battle were they commemorating? Over here they always act the battles with the English in 1775. I tell them there was no USA until 1776 so it's really a civil war. Doesn't go down too well-LOL!
Glad to see you are getting away for a while anyway. Between Mum, Dad, and babysitting your life seems very full.
    Hugs, Lois

  2. I think it was more a case of what might have been as no battles actually took place here.I just pinched this from Wikipedia Berry Head is the site of an Iron Age hill fort which was mostly destroyed by the construction between 1794 and 1804 of extensive fortifications to protect the Torbay naval anchorage against threatened invasion by French armies.[2] I also have their blog on my side bar.
Whenever I think of Boston i always want to shout out The British Are coming I remember this from the history trail we did when we were there. Paul Revere ?

  4. You should be proud of these photos Mary! Look at those eyes! I think that's the cutest animal on Earth! And I think someone should pay you a good amount of money because you advertise your country so well! :) I enjoy your photos so much (as I told you before), as if I was there with you! And it only makes me want to go there more! Thank you for this post. :)

  5. Enjoyed these pics, very much!! Great job and loved the uniforms and the period clothing on the woman.

We are in Boston frequently for red sox baseball games and have dinner a few blocks from the old North Church (one if by land...) and Paul Revere's home, both spots you must've seen while walking The Freedom Trail. Great city, isn't it? We return in a few days, so it's on my mind. I'll have to post some 2011 boston pics for you... and keep up the great photos!

Hope you are well, and thanks for being such a sweet blog buddy! - vicki xo
