Twinchie’s And Other Things.

Almost  a month has passed since my last blog, and i do not seem to have created very much at all,I have cut back on swaps because I fear not meeting deadlines.
But I have made twinchie books for the swap hosted by the very talented Sonja http://artfrommysoul.wordpress.com/  over at milliande.

this one was made from a vintage book of Italian art . I used a small Sizzix die cut bird for the cover  and then covered it with aluminium tape which was coloured with alcohol inks.

this is a accordion fold book which would make a great mini album

and this last one is made from watercolour paper dyed green with a Sizzix die cut embossed with ultra thick embossing powder.
I have also made two dolls

I used the traditional song  How Many Flowers  In a English Country Garden as the prompt.

This is a very poor photo ,but this page was done as a tribute to the Queens Diamond jubilee.

  1. I can see so much work here, don't know why you say you didn't do much? And it's all gorgeous! The books are amazing, but I must say the last one is my favorite. The whole look of it - it's just so different and enchanting. The journal pages are also gorgeous! I just love everything you do Mary!
    Kisses to Miss X! :)

  2. Well for someone "who has not created much at all," I'd say you've been doing quite a bit! I love your little journals and you really inspired me with the bird one covered in the metal tape and colored with alcohol inks. I have both of those supplies on hand and will be playing with that (probably later today!) Also, the dolls are wonderful. That is an art that I always want to get into, but haven't yet. I have all the supplies to play around with that too. Maybe I am fearful of the pandora's box that would open. (and I have too many of those already open!)

    1. I know what you mean about the Pandora's box, I have the same problem ,I start so many different techniques and end up swamped in supplies.

  4. Mary, I like to look in here for inspiration and I always find it. In your books you have so many layers of yummy texture. Little Miss X looks like she is right out of a Beatrice Potter story. So cute! And I bet she likes to carry your little prim dolls all about the garden.
    hugs, patty
