All Sorts
It has been six weeks since my last post, and it has been very eventful.
My new Grandson was born on the planned date of 26th September by Cesarean section ,but like his big sister before him the birth was not as straightforward as we had hoped.
Mother and baby were in some distress and baby M was born with a collapsed lung causing breathing problems. This in turn meant an extended stay in the ICU, and a spell in the special care unit, at some point he was also tested positive for Pseudomonas, so as you can imagine it was a very stressful time.
When he came home no one was more delighted, than big sister little Miss X
As you can see she was and still is delighted.
And Mr M is thriving although he will have to have regular checks on his lungs.
And can you believe a couple of weeks ago little Miss X was 2 ?
and a week ago she had a party at our house, luckily the weather was fine as we had to remove furniture to make way for hired play items.
Miss X had a wonderful time, but unfortunately since them has been quite poorly with extremely high temperatures and obvious discomfort, although a emergency visit to the doctor found no obvious cause, Mummy and Daddy suspect it is teething pain as her molars have yet to come through.
Leading up to the party my Mum and Aunt came to stay for five days and I tried to get them both crafting
This was an owl production line, and they also enjoyed looking through my journal which has travelled around Europe .
I have found time to create some art / craft.
I have ReNae to thank for these wonderful stamps http://crabtree-creations.blogspot.co.uk/
If it is not too late I may enter this for http://tuesdaytaggers.blogspot.co.uk/
Not sure what I would do without the Sizzix
I am not a Christmas person, so there will not be many like this, but once again I have to thank ReNae.
Banners waiting to be embellished
and tags
and ATC sized cards
I prepared a few journal pages with Dylusion inks ,but if past form is anything to go by ,they will never be used .
I have made 4 scrap dolls
Verity
Moda
Daisy
Sybil
I thought I would make a apple core quilt, but soon realized it was not for me,
so I turned my attention to recycling old denim jeans into a basic square quilt,
one days work and I was bored
plan B
I decided to turn it into hanging storage , and it meant I could use a lot more of the discarded jeans, now all I have to do is finish it off , by adding buttons ,studs etc.
I will never be able to do neat work ,so this sort of project is perfect for me.

DeleteHi Mary,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are blogging again. I was thinking of you and going to write you to see if everything was okay. I didn't want to be a nosy body, and low and behold there you were today on my blog.
I'm so happy all is well again. Congratulations on that precious baby boy! I'm glad he is better and I will keep him in my prayers as well.
Those are such beautiful photos of your granddaughter and her little brother. Happy Birthday to little Ms. X! Wow, she's 2 already.

ReplyDeleteYour work is amazing as always! Everything you do is so inspiring, I want to paint and make something right now! And the denim piece is great! I really need something like that in my studio. Thanks for the idea! :)
