SO MUCH TO SAY

It is a strange thing with blogs  some days there is nothing to say and I probably send some of you to sleep with boredom , But today my head is bursting and I risk going OTT. Anyway here goes.

Yesterday as I was looking for something else I found this butterfly which I started about 18mths ago  it needed embellishments and one hour later it was finished  I was pleased with how it turned out.

I also finished the journal page I have done for Milliande and which I am sending to Marilyn in Canada she is binding all of our pages as a gift.

BUT IT IS TO BE KEPT SECRET

Now today I visited my elderly  parents in Bath  I took a few food supplies and while i was there took photo’s of they graveyard they look out onto.

There are only a few graves it is a very tiny plot but this one is very eerie especially in poor light.

I should mention at this point I have a fascination with old graveyards and I lived by this one for many years but I can never remember going in .

On  a lighter note my Father showed me a knitted Jelly Baby he had been given.

I thought this was very odd as at 84 did he really need a knitted Jelly baby, but he explained that it was from a Church group and when they did not know what to give a seriously ill person they gave them a Jelly Baby. Just to let them know they were thinking of them.

This is actually a very bright lime green.

When I left them I thought I would pop into the Book Barn  which is a massive warehouse containing thousands of second hand  books. Normally when I go in the books are priced individually according to age value etc.

But I could not believe my luck when I arrived as the sign on the door stated all books £1.

I double checked and yes every single book £1  so I grabbed a trolley and I was off.

Just a snapshot  I always buy these old books intending to rip them apart in reality though it very rarely happens.

When I returned home I found interesting post   had been delivered.

The bluebirds had flown in from Christine in Yorkshire for  my ATC swap

Christine had said it was a favourite subject of hers and this appears to be the case as I was amazed as to how many were in the envelope.

I only asked for 3 with the option of another for the Hospice my father attends so I was over whelmed. And the amount of work put into them is amazing even the envelope had Bluebirds attached

The second envelope contained the unmistakable artwork of Lorraine in Liverpool who has a style I really envy  and she has used collage and stamping .

I think I recognize these birds

Lorraine’s blog is on my sidebar.

Love of Collage

The third envelope contained two journal pages for the April swap hosted by Nina in Canada and these pages were from Dawna in Canada .

What more can I say other than  AMAZING

I love them both

As you can see It has been quite a day  and just when I thought it was time to relax I had to transform into a  ipad expert over the phone ( you should all try this it is very difficult ) My 80 year old aunt has bought one and is struggling I am no expert  but  I do not want her to give up and I am determined that in the near future she will be a true Silver Surfer.

  3. You lucky stiff...all those old books...heaven! I bet your creative muse will be keeping you up tonight! I share your love of graveyards and often wonder through them with my hubby. Each headstone is a silent story never to be told. Except in one case, we came across the grave of a young fellow who died only recently. There was a small button marked "My Life Story" when you pushed it a recorded message of his life was played...very cool. Great post Mary!
