I know I have an addictive personality ,and my latest addiction is sewing .To be more accurate it is bag making, only one style at the moment but there are others in the planning.
I have already posted photos of the first two and after a trip to Ikea for more fabric , I made these although they have yet to be given straps/handles.
this fabric is much heavier and I will not know how it will hang until it has handles.
everyone likes the orange,it has a oriental look.
both of the above have the same lining.
which is quite unusual.
I am so excited as a neighbour bought this one straight away even without seeing it with handles. I think it was the bright red which attracted her.
This last one is back to a thinner fabric, but it would make a great shopping bag as it has images of food on the fabric.
As I have not had time to make any for two days ,I spent a short time getting used to my machine and what it can do. It is a reasonably priced machine from Costco made by Brother and able to create 40 different stitches. If it were not for these bags I would only use one or two,but I am determined o try and make the bags more attractive with decorative stitching. When I have a few minutes to spare I sit down and stitch samples on to spare fabric as a reference.
and I even made my first ever buttonhole
I visited my Mother today while my Father was at the Hospice, and I thought you might like to see some of the stained glass butterflies he makes.
Our Willow screen hedging has been covered in these tiny black flies with blue tipped wings, thousands of them and this morning they provided food for the visiting swallows.
I took dozens of photos trying to capture them flying low over and around the willows ,but it was impossible as they were too fast.
